    How Hypnosis Works

    How hypnosis worksHypnosis is a completely natural phenomenon that is 100% safe.

    In fact, it’s the most rapid, effective and natural way to modify behavior that there is.

    Both the American Medical Association and the British Medical Association have recognized and approved of its use in therapy for well over 50 years now.

    You see, each one of us was born with the natural ability to be hypnotized. It’s something totally unrelated to character, personality, intelligence or imagination.

    It’s so natural that we all automatically enter the hypnotic state on a regular basis.

    But we just don’t call it hypnosis.

    Let me explain.

    If you’ve ever found yourself drifting off into a day dream, eyes glazed, deep in thought, then you were actually in a state of hypnosis.

    If you’ve ever found yourself driving along, mind wandering and then realized that you missed your exit or turnoff, it’s because you were actually in a state of hypnosis.

    If you’ve ever found yourself in front of a computer screen and an hour or two has just seemed to fly by, making you wonder where the time went, then you were in a state of hypnosis. (In fact, time distortion is a common experience in the hypnotic state.)

    Hypnosis has been around since primitive man first gazed into the fire and drifted off into thought.

    And we’ve been experiencing hypnosis ever since.

    Of course, there is a difference between this form of hypnosis and the kind of hypnosis found on my hypnosis recordings.

    When we drift off into a day dream or experience ‘highway hypnosis’, for example, then the hypnosis is automatic and uncontrolled – you just find yourself in that state.

    When you listen to my hypnosis recordings, however, you are actually gently guided into this state in a systematic and controlled manner.

    You elect to go into hypnosis. And you remain in control throughout.

    In fact, if the recording or the hypnotist just disappeared in a puff of smoke, then you’d simply emerge from hypnosis after a short time in a very natural manner. It is absolutely impossible to get stuck in hypnosis. You’re in charge and you always have the ability to end your hypnosis at any time you choose.

    Hypnosis works by gently guiding your conscious mind into a calm state, so that it relaxes and allows your subconscious mind to become more receptive and open to positive suggestion.

    When you are in hypnosis, you are aware of everything going on around you. You hear each and every hypnotic suggestion that is being given and your own subconscious mind chooses whether to accept or to reject these suggestions.

    Because the subconscious mind will only accept suggestions that are beneficial, it will only accept helpful, positive suggestions.

    Once it has accepted a suggestion, then it turns that suggestion into a belief.

    And, because we are to such a large extent our beliefs, then that belief becomes part of our reality.

    The subconscious mind spontaneously creates the changes we desire so that it can bring about and manifest its beliefs.

    It really is as simple as that.
